Add a spool by photo
Photograph a thread label and let Lilo read it and suggest the thread.
You can add a spool without typing its code. Lilo reads the label from a photo.
Steps#
- Open the My Threads tab in the sequencer.
- Open Add a spool by photo.
- Choose a photo of the label. Take it in good light, close enough to read the code, with no glare.
- Lilo reads the text and suggests which thread it is.
- Check the suggestion. Then confirm.
You always confirm. Lilo never adds a spool on its own.
If Lilo reads it wrong#
Reading text from a picture is not perfect. If the suggestion is wrong, search the catalogue by code, or fill in the spool by hand.
Tips for a good photo#
- Lay the spool on a plain surface.
- Hold the camera square to the label.
- Make sure the number and the brand name are both visible.
- Avoid shiny reflections on the plastic.
Privacy#
The photo is read on your computer. Lilo does not send it anywhere.
