Manual Stitches
Standard or Premium quality
What changes when you pick Premium, how many more stitches it makes and when it is worth it.
Quality is one of three choices in the Sewing setup. It changes how carefully Lilo digitizes.
Standard#
- A fixed satin density of 0.40 mm.
- Underlay chosen by column width.
- Thin strokes become a single running line.
- Quick and predictable.
Premium#
- Spacing and pull compensation follow each column's width.
- Fine strokes sew as narrow satin, not as a faint line.
- Fills get edge walk and cross underlay.
- Columns that meet overlap slightly, so no gap shows.
- Tiny stitches are merged a little more aggressively (0.6 mm minimum instead of 0.5 mm).
The cost#
Premium usually makes about 1.2 to 1.6 times as many stitches as Standard. That means a longer sew. It varies by design.
When to choose which#
| Design | Pick |
|---|---|
| A logo with hairline serifs, like the Kadwood wordmark | Premium |
| A quick test, or a bold simple shape | Standard |
| Tiny text | Premium with 60 wt thread |
| A big fill with no fine detail | Standard |
Changing quality later#
Open the Sewing setup card and pick the other quality. Lilo updates shapes it made itself. It keeps anything you edited by hand. One undo step goes back.
